Mirantus Health digitises and decentralises ophthalmic pre-screenings through its software platform “mira,” which equips optician shops to capture retina images, intra-ocular pressure, slit-lamp photos, refraction data and visual-acuity tests. The data are transmitted to a pool of ophthalmologists who return a written assessment within 24–48 hours, flagging any abnormalities that warrant a full medical examination. The company already serves more than 200 locations across Germany and supports scheduling through a network of over 400 partner ophthalmologists, relieving pressure on traditional practices. By 2027 Mirantus aims to scale the service to more than 1,000 sites throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The solution targets growing shortages in eye-care caused by an ageing specialist workforce, with roughly 30 % of German ophthalmologists nearing retirement. Revenue metrics were not disclosed, but the firm will use fresh capital to expand geographically and enhance its software. Its value proposition centres on early detection, reduced wait times for patients and lower long-term costs for the healthcare system.
