Mirvie

651 Gateway Boulevard, Suite 1200, South San Francisco, CA, 94080, United States

Overview

Mirvie’s core product is the Mirvie RNA platform, which analyzes tens of thousands of RNA transcripts from the mother, placenta, and fetus with machine learning to detect pregnancy complications months before they occur. The company offers a simple maternal blood test intended to give clinicians an early intervention window for conditions such as preeclampsia. Mirvie cites peer-reviewed evidence (a Nature study) showing its platform detects 75% of those who will develop preeclampsia and has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in obstetrics. The company is expanding global research, launching study sites in Cameroon, Ghana, and Zambia to understand preeclampsia in low- and middle-income countries. Domestically, the Mirvie Research Collaborative is enrolling at least 10,000 pregnant individuals across the U.S. to build a large pregnancy transcriptome biobank. Financially, Mirvie has raised more than $90 million in early-stage financing from a group of investors and recently secured a $4.6 million grant to fund the sub-Saharan Africa studies. Mirvie develops the proprietary Mirvie RNA platform, a non-invasive blood test that can predict preeclampsia and preterm birth months before they happen by revealing the underlying biology of each pregnancy. The platform is designed to reveal distinct biological causes of unexpected pregnancy complications, enabling tailoring of existing interventions and the development of new targeted therapies. Mirvie is conducting ongoing clinical research to validate existing peer‑reviewed evidence, enhance platform performance, and improve understanding of other pregnancy complications. The company positions its tests as providing an early detection window for women, expecting parents, and clinicians to intervene before complications become a crisis; one in five pregnancies is impacted by complications. Led by co‑founder and CEO Maneesh Jain, Mirvie's team includes scientists and entrepreneurs who previously brought category‑first, non‑invasive tests in women’s health and early cancer detection to market that are used by millions. Following the close of its Series B, Mirvie has raised $90M to date and will use funding to support continued clinical and commercial development.
