Mitra Biotech develops CANScript, a platform validated on thousands of patients that tailors therapies for cancer patients and speeds up drug development. The company plans to use new funds to enhance its technology and conduct studies to demonstrate CANScript's clinical utility. Management also intends to expand commercial efforts in the US, India and other key markets. Mitra was founded in 2009 by Mallikarjun Sundaram and Dr. Pradip Majumder and is based in Bangalore. In the current financing it raised a substantial Series B to support product development and commercialization. A Sands Capital representative will join the company's board and Sequoia has an existing board member involvement.
