Mixmax is an extension for Gmail, Inbox by Google and Salesforce that adds one-click scheduling, templates, email scheduling and email-open and link-click tracking. The product is especially popular with sales, success and recruiting teams. Mixmax currently serves more than 10,000 customers, mostly in small and medium businesses. The company plans to expand upmarket and use the new funding to add a mobile interface, embeddable calendars, support for voice dialing and SMS, new team features and proactive nudges to prompt outreach. Outlook support is planned for Q4 of 2018. Mixmax also plans to grow its headcount from 18 to 50 employees. Mixmax is a Chrome extension that adds interactive apps and widgets to Gmail, allowing recipients to schedule meetings, annotate documents, make purchases, confirm orders, and complete surveys without leaving email. Recipients do not need Mixmax installed to see the additional content. The product includes a Mixmax SDK so developers can build apps that run inside email. Co‑founders Olof Mathé, Chanpory Rith, and Brad Vogel previously worked on Inkling’s e‑book authoring platform and have experience at Skype, Google, and Apple. The company emphasizes making email actionable compared with static, plain messages. Mixmax plans to use its new funding to hire engineers, expand the platform, and build out the SDK.
