Mob Science is a social gaming startup based just north of San Diego that builds Facebook games, including titles such as inFamous Anarchy, Coffee Bar, Snowball Fight and Willy's Sweet Shop. None of its existing games have more than 20,000 monthly active users, according to AppData. The company raised $1 million in seed funding to focus on developing a mid-core RPG and to hire game designers, product managers and engineers. Mob Science is partnering with Zynga to tie games to Zynga’s new platform and to leverage Zynga’s marketing channels. Through that partnership the startup expects access to Zynga’s 240 million monthly active users as well as back-end technology, analytics and other viral channels. The company is also positioning itself to support third-party games on Zynga’s destination site for casual titles.
