Mobilizer

20 South Dudley Street, Memphis, Tennessee, 38117, United States

Overview

Mobilizer manufactures a six-wheeled holster that carries oxygen tanks, IV drips and other devices beside a patient’s bed so a single attendant can prepare and walk patients more quickly. The product launched in May and is a class I exempt device, requiring registration with the FDA rather than full premarket approval. CEO and co‑founder James Bell says the company has sold almost 100 units to date, with customers including Mass General Hospital and Vanderbilt University Medical Center; units cost a little under $5,000 apiece. Mobilizer projects it will be net cash flow positive by year’s end. The company plans to develop platform variants tailored to different hospital departments, expand into home care, and form partnerships with other medical‑tech firms (for example a portable ventilator company).
