Mobnotes is an Italian location-based social network offering mobile apps for iPhone, Nokia (Symbian), Android, Vodafone 360 and a mobile site. The service lets users locate nearby friends, businesses and venues and send location-based notifications. It monetizes through mobile advertising and custom co-branded versions of the service. Mobnotes reports about 150,000 registered users in Italy and says it works with major handset manufacturers and networks. The company projected revenues of €590,000 in 2011 rising to over €2.5 million in 2012 and expects to become profitable in 2012. Mobnotes was a TechCrunch50 finalist in 2008.
