MobStac offers a cloud platform that helps publishers and consumer brands build and manage mobile websites and apps, with customers that include top Indian media houses such as The Hindu and Times Internet. The company is expanding its platform to enable consumer brands to sell products on mobile phones and already has four beta customers using the new offering. MobStac was founded in 2009 by Sharat Potharaju and Ravi Pratap M and is headquartered in Bangalore; as part of global expansion plans one co‑founder will relocate to New York. The startup reports over 5 million unique visitors per month and around 25 paying customers, and aims to reach 25 million monthly uniques within a few years. Financially, MobStac has raised a $2 million Series B and has total venture financing of $3.1 million to date. Cisco invested $1 million in the latest round and Accel Partners participated, with Cisco’s backing positioned as an endorsement for enterprise mobility.
