Mocacare develops MOCAheart, a smart consumer device that scans fingertips to measure blood velocity and determine heart rate and blood oxygen levels. The device produces a MOCA INDEX, a qualitative measurement of blood flow correlated to blood pressure, to indicate overall cardiovascular health. Founded in 2013 by Dr. Daniel Wei‑Chen Hong (MD) and Naama Stauber, the company is based in Palo Alto and maintains an engineering center in Taipei. Mocacare intends to use the new funding for the domestic and international rollout of MOCAheart. The company previously ran a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $120k and completed seed funding. To date it has raised over $4m in total, including the most recent $2m venture round.
