Moi closed a $6M Series A financing and has raised $12M in total funding to date. The company intends to use the funds to further develop TwitCasting, accelerate marketing to expand the user base, and develop new services and core technologies for live streaming communication. Moi Corporation is the company behind TwitCasting, a mobile live-streaming service with separate apps for broadcasting and viewing. The app enables broadcasters and viewers to chat, share streams to Twitter and Facebook, and supports up to four users broadcasting together. TwitCasting was originally built in 2010 and has grown steadily—taking two years to reach its first million users and expanding to about 6.5 million users over the last year or so. Founder and CEO Yosuke Akamatsu credits the company's growth to a streaming technology that adapts to changing network quality, allowing broadcasts on low bandwidth. The company is already sizable in Japan and Brazil and aims to expand into other international markets. Moi raised $5 million led by Indonesia's Sinar Mas Group with Japan's East Ventures participating to fund global expansion.
