Overview
Mojave is a Sunnyvale, California–based provider of liquid desiccant systems. Led by CEO Philip Farese and founded in 2022 as a spinout of Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), the company develops liquid desiccant air conditioning technology for commercial buildings. Its first product is a Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) that focuses on dehumidification, reducing energy consumption and refrigerant use, and improving indoor air quality. Mojave says its liquid desiccant technology cools and dehumidifies air while allowing independent control of dew point and dry bulb setpoints, and that technology in development could require less energy than vapor compression systems and eliminate the need for refrigerants, potentially abating over one billion tons of CO2e. The company is already running several field pilots and has a commercial launch slated for January 2024. It raised $12.5M and plans to use the funds to launch its third-generation platform, expand go-to-market and commercialization efforts, manufacture initial orders, and continue research and development.
