Moju (Moju Labs) is a mobile app that leverages the iPhone's ability to capture a series of photos and user movements to create short, motion-based images called Mojus. The product captures 24 frames and omits audio to reduce load time while using the phone's motion sensors so images shift as viewers twist their phones. The company positions Mojus as a concise, hyperreal alternative to mobile video—more expressive than photos but simpler than full videos. Founder Mok Oh is a former art student, MIT graduate and ex-PayPal scientist. Moju has raised $1 million from investors and the product is available in the App Store. The company plans to use the funds to build more personalization, relevance and automation into the mobile product.
