Molecular Products Group develops and manufactures medical devices, gas filters and oxygen generators. Its chemical-based technology serves healthcare, military and industrial markets, and the company was commissioned by NASA to design an emergency oxygen system for the International Space Station. MPG is developing high-performance activated carbons for enhanced filtration and adsorption in military and industrial respirators. It is also building a portable lightweight oxygen generator that delivers emergency medical-grade oxygen to the battlefield. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Harlow, Essex and Boulder, Colorado, is owned by Ian and Andrew McKernan, and currently generates roughly £20m in revenues. MPG plans to use new funding to grow in existing markets, enter geographies such as India and Japan, and to continue product innovation.
