Mombox (Acquired by The Kive Company)
18 Church St, Wilmington, MA, 01887, United States
Overview
Mombox sells curated postnatal kits that prioritize the mother’s recovery, not the child. The standard kit includes organic overnight pads, a peri bottle, a perineal ice pack, post-pregnancy panties and other soothing care products; the company also offers a C-section box and a Deluxe Mombox. Today the product is sold primarily as a one-time gift purchase, though the founder plans to expand into kit subscriptions, content, and a platform to connect new moms with care providers. The envisioned platform is a “24/7 pocket concierge” to link mothers with lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists, marital therapists and other providers across the first year of motherhood. Mombox aims to personalize the experience based on each mother’s journey (breastfeeding vs. bottle, stay-at-home vs. working, etc.) and to support recovery across a 12-month matrescence period. The company was bootstrapped until the recent raise; the founder is currently the sole employee and reports 100% year-over-year revenue growth to date, having spent $0 on marketing up until now.
