Moment.me is a Tel Aviv–based event tech company that provides event organizers a tool to create mobile microsites for any event. The microsites act as a one-stop shop of digital content, enabling participants to prepare for, attend, and relive events online. The sites incorporate content from the company’s viral app, which automatically pulls content from major social networks and smartphone camera rolls. Co‑founded by CEO Ronny Elkayam, Boaz Adato and Eilon Tirosh, the company plans to use the new funding to accelerate market adoption of a new solution, expand marketing and advertising, and pursue strategic partnerships with major web development firms. It also intends to integrate its proprietary technology as an embeddable web app or widget to reach a new pool of users. Moment.me closed $1.65M in this round and has raised over $3M to date. Moment.me is an iPhone application that automatically aggregates photos, videos, and tweets from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google+ into multimedia albums called "moments." It uses a proprietary "smart-matching" technology to group related content and displays a red "Live" banner on ongoing events to indicate updates are coming in. The app supports an "empty room scenario" where a single user can surface friends' content without others needing to install the app. Moment.me complies with social networks' privacy settings so content visibility follows original platform permissions. A TechCrunch reviewer noted its matching technology sometimes missed connections, suggesting it may need refinement. The 10-person company was founded in February 2012 in Tel Aviv, maintains R&D in Israel and a small New York office, and in May took in $1.5 million in seed funding from Blumberg Capital and other private investors.
