Overview
MoneyMan is a remote consumer-lending service that provides microloans up to 50,000 rubles (about $1,000) for terms up to 18 weeks. Founded in August 2012, the company has financed about 132,000 microloans totaling 1.4 billion rubles since launch and in Q1 2015 issued 35,000 loans for 357.4 million rubles. It expanded internationally in 2014, beginning services in Kazakhstan and Georgia. The company plans to use the new capital to open and develop business in international markets and to develop and improve its IT systems, with priority expansion markets in parts of Europe and Latin America. Total investments since founding have exceeded $12 million, including a previous $3 million investment from Vadim Dymov in 2013. MoneyMan has received industry recognition, including a Red Herring Europe 2015 mention and the Global Banking & Finance Review award for Best Microloan Provider Russia 2014.
