Overview
Monopar Therapeutics focuses on building a drug development pipeline through licensing and acquisition of oncology therapeutics at late preclinical through advanced clinical stages. The company recently acquired GPX-150, a novel non-cardiotoxic anthracycline from Gem Pharmaceuticals engineered to retain doxorubicin's anticancer activity while minimizing irreversible heart damage. Monopar holds an exclusive worldwide license to develop, register, commercialize and manufacture Validive®, a Phase III-ready clonidine mucobuccal tablet for prevention and treatment of radiation-induced severe oral mucositis. Its pipeline includes Phase II-stage GPX-150 and near-to-clinic MNPR-101, a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR). Led by CEO Dr. Chandler Robinson and CSO Dr. Andrew Mazar, the company closed a $9.7M financing in November 2017 to support advancement of these programs.
