Montana Technologies

200 Technology Way, Butte, MT, 59701, USA

Overview

Montana Technologies develops the patented AirJoule system, a self‑regenerating pressure swing adsorption technology that harvests thermal energy and water from air. The company says the technology can reduce electricity consumption and refrigerant use compared with conventional air conditioning, lowering carbon emissions and enabling low‑cost atmospheric water harvesting. Montana has formed a joint venture with GE Vernova to combine GE Vernova’s proprietary sorbent materials and coating processes with the AirJoule system, and maintains a global supply agreement with BASF to enable low‑cost production at scale. The company also executed an agreement with Carrier Corp. to commercialize AirJoule across HVAC markets in the Americas, Europe, India, and the Middle East. Rice Investment Group has committed $10 million as part of a private capital consortium led by Carrier Ventures to accelerate commercialization. Montana is pursuing a business combination with Power & Digital Infrastructure Acquisition II Corp (XPDB) expected to close in March, after which it is expected to trade on NASDAQ under the ticker AIRJ.
