Mooncard provides SaaS-based expense management solutions that automate expense reports through smart payment cards linked to accounting and management software. Its configurable payment cards work worldwide on the VISA network and include Allianz insurance as standard. Led by CEO Pierre-Yves Roizot, the company serves over 4,500 companies across France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands, including AirFrance, Kitsuné and JDC, as well as public organizations such as the French government. Mooncard raised €37m in a Series C and has raised over $75m to date. The company plans to use the Series C proceeds to expand operations and its business reach across Europe. Mooncard offers a smart corporate card and expense-report management platform that automates administrative tasks such as pre-filling data, storage of receipts and accounting treatment. The Mooncard card can be used to pay for business expenses, online purchases and subscriptions. The company says it is a leader in smart corporate cards and has attracted more than 3,000 corporate customers including Air France, Cora, Cityscoot, Mirakl, Odigo, Groupe Poisson, Vinci and Zadig & Voltaire. Mooncard is led by CEO Tristan Leteurtre (ex-VLC, Anevia), CTO Damien Metzger (ex-Prestashop) and CFO Pierre-Yves Roizot (ex-Vente-Privée). The company plans to use new funding to expand into five top European countries within 12 months, add about 100 new team members by the end of 2022, and develop new solutions and smart digital features. Mooncard is France-based and has raised external funding to support its growth. Mooncard offers a corporate expense platform that issues physical cards to team members and lets managers set spending rules, limits, and validation workflows. When a cardholder pays, they receive an SMS link to photograph receipts, add details, and submit expenses for real-time visibility. Accounting teams can view expenses as they occur and share reports with external accountants. Behind the scenes, companies create a dedicated expense account and top it up; Mooncard’s banking integration is handled with Wirecard. The service is already used by about 1,000 companies, including Air France, Vinci, Virtuo and Ledger. Customers pay between €13 and €15 per user per month, and Mooncard plans to reach 200,000 users within three years.
