Moonray PBC is developing Moonray, a multiplayer action-RPG metaverse game built on Bitcoin via Stacks that integrates NFTs and on-chain Bitcoin settlement. The company is using Unreal Engine, with high-end visuals, algorithmic asset generation, a deep storyline, and player-versus-player and co-op combat. Moonray plans to launch an NFT marketplace to let players buy, sell, and trade unique in-game collectibles, weapons, and skins, with Lightning Network integration, BTC payments and eventual credit-card support. The marketplace is intended to create a digital economy where players can own items and potentially earn BTC yield from NFTs. Funds raised will go toward research and development of the marketplace and continued game development. The company has 25 employees, aims to grow to more than 50, and planned early access for select players in March 2022.
