Moonshot develops electromagnetic acceleration systems to send small cargo (hundreds of kilos) to orbit at much lower per-kilo cost than chemical rockets. Its near-term product is the EMA, a 30 cm-diameter accelerator being finished with seed funding and positioned both for future space logistics and as a hypersonic test facility for defense clients. The company was founded by a three-person founding team led by Hilla Haddad Chmelnik, has grown to about 25 employees, and relies on extensive simulation and small-scale lab demonstrators to de-risk scale-up. Moonshot targets initial operational capability in the early 2030s and plans a much larger orbital accelerator called Magnetar, with final infrastructure expected to be built in Alaska and financed by customers once the technology is validated. Financially, Moonshot raised a $2.5M pre-seed, received $1.5M from the Israeli Innovation Authority, and recently closed a roughly $14M seed that provides about one year of runway; it plans a $20–30M follow-on round to complete Magnetar development.
