Overview
Moonware builds HALO, an AI-powered platform that consolidates various aspects of aviation ground operations to increase awareness and operational efficiency on the ramp. The software targets widespread disruptions caused by delays, cancellations and logistical challenges. The company has completed initial product launches with British Airways at JFK and AeroCharter at LAX. Leadership says the platform positions Moonware to modernize aviation ground operations and catalyze efficiency gains across the sector. Moonware recently closed a $7M seed round, which company executives say will support growth and global scaling. Investors and management express expectations of high growth and broader deployments in coming years. Moonware’s core product, HALO, is an AI-powered OS that algorithmically coordinates airfield ground operations and automatically dispatches crew and equipment. The software ingests real-time flight information, crew schedules and task allocation, and proprietary ground-position data gathered from cell phones and low-cost GPS trackers. Moonware says HALO reduces delays, airfield congestion and aircraft turnaround time and can be used by commercial airlines, cargo carriers, defense, and future eVTOL operators. The company plans to first launch with airlines that insource ground operations and expects network effects as more hubs adopt HALO; its first paid deployment will be with an undisclosed major European carrier in North America later this fall. That initial deployment will service about ten flights per day and scale to 15–20 flights per day over four to six months. Moonware is three years old and recently closed $2.5 million in pre-seed financing led by Third Prime with participation from Zero Infinity Partners, The House Fund, Lorimer Ventures, Plug and Play and several angel investors. The founders say autonomy for vehicles such as baggage transporters and pushback tractors is a longer-term goal likely later in the decade, and the company is also in conversation with the U.S. Air Force about ground-ops coordination.
