MotherKnows is an online health-record platform built specifically for parents to aggregate children’s health data across web and mobile. It provides 24-hour access to immunizations, allergies, doctor visits, growth charts and other records, and lets parents approve access for doctors, caregivers, camps, and schools as a supplemental electronic medical record. A child’s personal health data is encrypted and protected and is never shared with third parties; parents retain full control over which third-party sites can access the data. The product is currently in closed beta, the homepage is accepting signups, and a public launch is scheduled for late summer according to Co-founder and CEO Hesky Kutscher. MotherKnows raised $1.7M in seed funding to complete web and mobile product development and initiate a consumer launch. The team says this is their first product and plans longer-term expansion into products for other consumer groups with specific health needs, such as home health care and extended families.
