Motion Engine is a Montreal-based fabless MEMS device startup that develops and commercializes motion sensing enabling devices, systems and related applications. Founded in 2013 by president Louis Ross, the company focuses on development of its core motion-sensing technology and related intellectual property. The startup closed a $1M seed funding round and also received $150K from the MiQro Innovation Collaborative Centre (C2MI) through the Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR) program. Unnamed angel investors from Canada, the United States and Asia participated in the seed round. Motion Engine is using the funds to continue development of its technology and related IP.
