Moto Pizza, founded by Lee Kindell and Nancy Gambin in 2021, started as a small Seattle shop and has expanded to multiple locations including West Seattle, Belltown and Edmonds. Its core product is made-to-order, often unconventional pizzas (crab, clams, shrimp and other toppings) sold via online time-slot reservations, walk-up locations, and at T-Mobile Park and two Amazon Just Walk Out cafes. Moto has integrated food automation—most notably a Picnic Pizza Station—that dispenses toppings and helps the kitchen produce roughly 180 pizzas per hour while humans add delicate specialty toppings and finish pies. Kindell is pursuing numerous tech and distribution experiments (robotic bartending with Artly, iPourIt self-pour taps, drone delivery talks with Zipline, rolling delivery robots, e-bikes), plus on-site vertical hydroponics, a mycology tent, and a potential drive-thru concept with a visible Pizza Station. The business faces viral demand (a three-month waitlist), staffs about 62 people, and produced 1,000–1,500 pizzas in three hours for T-Mobile Park events. Kindell and Gambin raised $600,000 in a seed round to fund new restaurants and equipment upgrades as they plan further expansion and scaling.
