Motto provides Motto-branded electric bikes to customers on a €75-per-month subscription that includes damage and theft insurance plus on-demand maintenance and repairs. The bikes feature a rear-wheel motor assisting up to 25 km/h, integrated lights, GPS tracking, an anti-theft system, a carbon belt and a removable battery accessed via the saddle/seat tube. There are two frame styles (step-over and low-step) and the company plans subscription add-ons such as a baby carrier and a front rack. Users can request a repair via the app and Motto aims to resolve issues within 48 hours. Motto conducted a Paris pilot under the name Bloom with 200 users and plans a wider public launch in April 2022. The service positions itself against other bike-subscription companies (Dance, Swapfiets), publicly funded schemes (Véligo), public transit and outright bike ownership.
