Movement Ventures builds Boombox, a product that packages quizzes and polls into embeddable interactive widgets for publishers and brands. The company previously created standalone quiz and poll products called Qzzr and Pollcaster. Co-founder and CEO Josh Little says Boombox aims to give publishers “BuzzFeed-like engagement” without requiring large engineering teams or budgets. At launch Boombox includes polls and quizzes, with a list-making product planned soon and future interest in interactive charts and maps. Publishers can export engagement data from the widgets. The product uses a freemium model: a free tier and a paid version that removes Boombox branding. Movement Ventures has raised a $5.5M Series A to continue development on Boombox.
