Movik Networks develops wireless networking products to enable an Intelligent Radio Access Network (RAN) for high-value content delivery. Its technology leverages network and content awareness to deliver mobile content from the edge and to schedule, pace, and off-load traffic, improving RAN utilization and throughput. In deployments and field trials the company reported dramatic improvements in mobile broadband experience, including substantial reductions in the time it takes subscribers to open websites and videos and in the amount of traffic sent over the RAN. The company announced an expanded presence in Europe and the Middle East and the appointment of John St. Amand as Chief Executive Officer. Movik has secured $25 million in funding and intends to use the financing to scale field operations supporting its growing deployments and trials worldwide. It also plans to accelerate development of its RAN-aware mobile content delivery technology.
