Mozilla.ai is structured as a startup (not a nonprofit) and is open to spinning out successful projects into standalone products or companies. The organization positions itself as part research firm, part community and aims to create allied networks of companies, researchers and governments. Financially, it was funded by a $30 million seed investment from the Mozilla Foundation, Mozilla’s parent organization.
