9450 SW Gemini Dr, Beaverton, OR, 97008, United States
Overview
Mozio builds an urban mobility app that aggregates shuttles, taxis, limos, trains, buses, public transit and other ground-transportation options into a single booking interface. The company’s platform enables travelers to search for and book the right last-mile option when traveling to and from airports. Mozio partners with consumer travel brands such as Booking.com, Hotels.com and Skyscanner and with corporate travel firms including Carlson Wagonlit Travel, American Express Business Travel and BCD Travel. The firm has 65 employees across offices in San Francisco, London, Argentina and Portugal. Founded in 2012, Mozio has previously raised $3.3M in venture capital from Silicon Valley VCs and strategic investors such as Veolia Transdev North America and JetBlue Technology Ventures. Management has said it plans to develop more distribution partners and further extend its platform, and views strategic investors like JetBlue Technology Ventures as key partners in that effort. Mozio operates an airport ground transportation search engine and a B2B white-label solution that aggregates fares for taxis, trains, buses, ferries, shuttles, limos and other local transport options. Its airport transfer search covers over 1,000 airports and 800 transportation providers, with the strongest coverage in the U.S. and additional presence in Europe, Latin America, Canada, Australia and Asia. While Mozio offers a public-facing search engine, its primary business is white-label B2B integrations with larger travel sites. The company was co-founded by UC Berkeley graduates David Litwak and Joseph Metzinger based on Litwak’s travel experiences. Operationally, Mozio reported doing over 100,000 bookings in one month and growing at roughly 20% month-over-month. It has begun strategic partnerships (including a deal with ride-share platform Wingz) and is working on a deal with Amtrak. Mozio plans to expand into more geographies, add additional transportation types such as ride-share and water taxis, and is hiring to grow its team. Mozio aggregates limos, taxis, ride shares, shuttles, shared vans, and public transit to help travelers navigate the "final mile" between airports and their destinations. The platform integrates through the APIs of participating ground-transportation providers and partners with both national and local operators to present a comprehensive picture of options. The company emphasizes that cost, timing, convenience, and comfort vary by city and aims to surface the best choice for each trip. Mozio is still early-stage and is building out its partnership network while developing its own API. It has generated interest from companies including TripAdvisor and Orbitz. The company has raised $185,000 in startup capital and operates with a three-person team based in San Francisco.
