Mr Yum
108-112 Langridge St Unit 3 & 4, Collingwood, Victoria, 3066, Australia
Overview
Mr Yum operates a mobile ordering, payments and growth platform tailored to the hospitality and entertainment industries. The service is used across venues including restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, casinos, theatres, shopping centres, cinemas, cruise ships and airports. It has been launched in the UK (2021) and rolled out at venues such as Little Creatures and The Breakfast Club, and festivals including Taste of London and Henley Regatta. The company reports more than 13 million users and over 1,500 venues on its platform, with a workforce of more than 120 full‑time staff across teams in Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Brisbane and its Melbourne headquarters. Founded in November 2018 by CEO Kim Teo, Mr Yum plans to use new funding to continue expanding operations and its business reach globally. Mr Yum provides a web-based QR-code ordering and payment platform for hospitality and entertainment venues that removes administrative work and integrates with venues' point-of-sale systems. Customers scan a QR code to register for contact tracing, order food and drinks, and pay from their phones with no app required. The company says it helps venues increase average customer spend by 20–40% while streamlining operations and delivering rich menu imagery. In the past 12 months Mr Yum grew 27x, now has 65 full-time staff, processes hundreds of millions in food and beverage transactions, and has over 10 million global users across 1,100+ venues. Mr Yum has secured contracts with major venues including Sydney Airport, Magic Mike Live (AUS & USA), Sahara Casino in Las Vegas and Clapham Leisure Group in the UK. The team plans to use its Australian leadership to expand into the UK and US, and a Series A round is reported to be in the works.
