MultiVu develops a 3D imaging solution that relies on a single sensor plus deep learning to extract depth and color data in a single shot. Its patented light-field technology aims to replace the typical two-sensor setup, enabling a more compact and affordable sensor. The company is focusing initially on 3D face authentication for phones and other small devices while noting additional applications in security, automotive, industrial, and medical markets. MultiVu’s core technology originated in Prof. David Mendlovic’s lab at Tel Aviv University, with earlier support from TAU’s Technology Innovation Momentum Fund. The team says the technology has passed proof-of-concept and is now concentrating on bringing the sensor to market. The company will use the new funding for product commercialization, marketing, and business development.
