MuscleSound has developed a patented SaaS platform that uses non-invasive ultrasound to measure and analyze muscle glycogen content, delivering results via cloud-based software in approximately 15 seconds. The technology provides a real-time, non-invasive alternative to muscle biopsy for assessing glycogen and enabling proactive recovery recommendations. Initial efforts are focused on professional and amateur sports, where the company supplies nutritional and recovery guidance to optimize performance. MuscleSound reports adoption by training staffs at teams including the Colorado Rockies, Dallas Mavericks, the University of Colorado, Oregon State University, global Olympic teams and U.K. soccer clubs. The company says it is quickly expanding into medicine and animal health markets where it expects substantial growth. Financially, MuscleSound announced it secured $4.3 million in seed funding from multiple angel investors.
