Musiio builds AI tools to automate and augment music curation and discovery for digital music services. The company was founded at the Entrepreneur First program in Singapore, where CEO Hazel Savage met CTO Aron Pettersson. Musiio’s first public client was Free Music Archive, where its curated playlist helped one track double its plays in two days after eight years, serving as an early proof of concept. The team has grown to seven full-time staff and the company says it is working with streaming and sync companies and expects two or three commercial announcements soon. Musiio recently completed a $1M seed round — its first outside financing — and previously raised SG$75,000 ($57,000) while at EF. Musiio develops AI-powered audio analysis using deep learning and feature extraction that trains on the audio itself to identify patterns and surface promising tracks for curators. In the FMA pilot, Musiio’s playlisting doubled a track’s plays from about 3,000 to 6,000 in two days and the track was closing on 10,000 plays two weeks after publication. Financially, Musiio has taken SG$75,000 (~$57,000) via Entrepreneur First and is preparing to raise a formal seed round.
