Musimap is a Belgian startup founded in 2015 that uses emotional artificial intelligence to build listener profiles and power personalised music recommendations. Its core product, the MusiMe psycho-emotional profiling engine, generates 1:1 personality profiles and emotional states of mind from users' listening history. The company has built what it describes as the largest AI-powered emotion-sensitive music database, having analysed and manually annotated one million songs and drawing on over 20 years of academic research. Musimap offers a core API for search, emotional and contextual auto-tagging, similarity scoring, recommendations, playlists and user psychographic profiling. The startup aims to transform personalised recommendations at scale and to support markets where emotions drive consumer behaviour, including e-commerce, dating and advertising.
