Mustard
1016 S. Towne Ave #119, Los Angeles, CA, 90021, United States
Overview
Mustard is a mobile app that makes uploaded food videos shoppable, highlighting content based on users' locations and selected food interests. Users create profiles, pick three food interests, and the algorithm surfaces videos tailored to location and tastes. Content creators can repurpose videos into revenue: if a video converts a viewer into a diner, the creator automatically receives an affiliate fee at no cost to the restaurant. The app is primarily available in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Bay Area and contains more than 8,000 restaurants in its database. Mustard plans to use its recently raised funds to hire engineers and expand density across Los Angeles and the rest of California, with a goal of branching out to the East Coast within a year. The company will release an in-app video editor by the end of the year and is developing food-specific filters; an Android version is planned after its current iOS-only release.
