Overview
MyColorScreen builds Themer, a theming app that lets Android users install bundled homescreen themes (backgrounds, icons, widgets) with one click. The app is in private beta and has seen strong early demand: about 250,000 users requested invites and roughly 140,000 installations so far, with 20,000–30,000 sign-ups and installs per day. The company sources designs from a community of designers (acquired the MyColorScreen domain) and purchases designs for around $50 each, maintaining a catalog of about 50 themes and multiple widgets. Themer is free during beta and will remain free to users; MyColorScreen plans to monetize via branded homescreens, branded widgets, and app-discovery integrations that suggest Play Store apps. The team includes co-founders Ashvin Dhingra (CEO), Joshua Solan and Brandon Miniman, CTO Rohit Talati, and four full-time employees working from an office in Irvine. MyColorScreen was initially self-funded and has supplemented that with external angel capital.
