MyFitnessPal is a free personal health and fitness system with a database of more than 3 million foods, hundreds of exercises, fitness-technology partners and community insights. Since its September 2005 launch the company has amassed more than 40 million users worldwide and has added over 1.5 million new users per month in the past year. Users of the platform have lost more than 100 million pounds to date. The company reports it has been profitable since inception and was bootstrapped until this financing. The funds will be used to accelerate hiring, global growth and to further evolve the team, analytics and product; localized services are already available in many European and South American countries. MyFitnessPal is headquartered in San Francisco and is led by co-founders Mike and Albert Lee.
