Myomaker Bio develops engineered human muscle organs and tissues intended to more closely mimic real human muscle for use in drug testing. The company aims to speed drug development, more accurately predict patient outcomes prior to clinical trials, and reduce reliance on animal testing. It is a spin-out from Loughborough University and is now operating from new laboratory facilities in Holborn, London. The founding team brings over 50 years of combined research experience, has secured more than £37m in R&D funding, and has published over 100 peer‑reviewed papers. Myomaker recently raised £325,000 in pre-seed funding from SFC Capital to expand its scientific team, scale production of its muscle models, and accelerate commercial partnerships. Professor Mark Lewis serves as chief executive.
