MYR GmbH is developing Myrcludex B, a drug candidate for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (HBV) and D (HDV) virus infections. Myrcludex B inhibits the recently identified HBV receptor on the hepatocyte surface, preventing infection of healthy cells and viral spreading within the liver. The company intends to use recently raised funds for further product development of Myrcludex B. MYR GmbH plans to initiate a pivotal clinical program in hepatitis delta in the first quarter of 2015. The company was founded in 2010 and is advancing clinical development from its base in Burgwedel, Germany. Recent financing strengthens its position to progress the program toward the planned pivotal study.
