MyTaag was founded in 2020 by Davis Zöllner (then 16) and Berkay Cankiran (one year older). The company’s core product, the "Taag", uses smartphones and a technology also used for cashless payments to enable digital exchange of contact data. MyTaag made an early breakthrough in 2021 after appearing on the TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen", where investor Carsten Maschmeyer put in €50,000 for a 30% stake. At the end of 2023 MyTaag completed a €500,000 financing from Schoeller Holdings Ltd. The company estimates its current valuation at €3.3 million and currently has a team of twelve, which it plans to expand. Proceeds are earmarked for further development of the contact-exchange technology and for expanding the customer base, which already includes all BMW dealers in Germany and RTL.
