MyTwinPlace operates a global community of more than 35,000 travellers who share their homes without exchanging money. The platform allows members to list primary or secondary residences or private rooms for free and uses a points-based system so members earn and spend points per night instead of cash. Membership and listing on MyTwinPlace are free. The company has an agreement with AXA Assistance that insures hosts and guests for home damage, alternative accommodation, and travel-cancellation costs. Launched in 2013 in Barcelona by Jean-Noel Saunier and Xavier Laballós, MyTwinPlace intends to use recent funding to continue expanding operations. It raised €750K in a financing round backed by Inveready, Sabadell Venture Capital, Vincent Rosso and other angel investors.
