MyVR

5 Third St 320, San Francisco, California, 94103, United States

Overview

MyVR provides a multichannel property-management platform that places listings on sites like Booking.com, Airbnb, and HomeAway and syncs activity between booking services. The platform includes an app marketplace and a services marketplace that bring together third-party software and service providers such as Stripe, MailChimp, and QuickBooks. MyVR focuses on serving Airbnb hosts and property managers who handle up to roughly 20 properties. The company plans to use new funding to expand its app and service ecosystem and to ramp up third-party integrations with providers focused on cleaners, maintenance, home automation, and financial services. MyVR is a Y Combinator graduate founded in 2010 and is based in San Francisco. CEO and cofounder Jonathan Murray has cited the app and services marketplaces as a primary reason for the funding. MyVR offers vacation rental owners a site builder plus integrated marketing tools that generate full websites (plans start at $12/month after a 30-day free trial) and centralize photos, descriptions and calendars. The platform syncs listings and calendars across major aggregators including HomeAway, FlipKey, VRBO, VacationRentals.com and TripAdvisor, and automates Craigslist postings. MyVR can auto-create Facebook Pages populated with property info and supports adding local guides for renters; online booking was announced as coming soon. The company graduated from Y Combinator in March and is run by co-founders Jonathan Murray and Mike Stachowiak with a team of seven. It targets a large market (roughly $85B in annual bookings across the U.S. and Europe and about six million active vacation rentals) where many owners lack marketing and management technology. MyVR is also building rental screening, booking and payment tools to add more automation while keeping owners in control of guest selection.
