Nami Lab builds creative AI systems focused on music, based in Monza, Italy. Its core product, Yalp (yalp.io), uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to enable computers to recognize musical chords and displays transcribed chords alongside song videos. Yalp is still in beta and targets both professional and amateur musicians who can search for a song and watch the related video with chord transcriptions. The company was co-founded by Simone Geravini, Mattia Bergomi and Vincenzo Picariello. Nami Lab raised €250K in seed funding and plans to use the proceeds to improve the technology and expand its database to one million transcribed pieces.
