NanoHive Medical is a Boston, MA-based company that develops 3D-printed titanium spinal interbody fusion devices. Its Hive™ portfolio of Soft Titanium® interbody fusion devices and instrumentation are designed to provide surgeons and patients with ideal biomechanical elastic modulus properties, clear and precise diagnostic imaging capability, and osteoblast cell attraction and integration. The company raised $7M in a Series C financing; backers were not disclosed. NanoHive intends to use the funds to expand its U.S. commercial organization, pursue product line-extensions and new product launches within the Hive portfolio, and advance “smart” sensor implant delivery research and development. It also plans to enter select international markets and expand strategic partnerships. Led by CEO Patrick O’Donnell, the company recently added Greg Hoffman and David Scott to its Managing Directors Board.
