NanoRacks is a Houston, Texas–based space-science company that provides hardware and services for the U.S. National Laboratory aboard the International Space Station. Led by CEO and founder Jeffrey Manber, the company developed research platforms onboard the U.S. National Laboratory that can house plug-and-play payloads and a family of other research facilities. Customers include domestic and international educational institutions, research organizations and government organizations. In June 2013 the company raised $2.6M in a Series A round led by Brussels-based E-Merge, which committed approximately $1.5M, with participation from individual backers in Texas and California. The company previously raised seed funding in 2011.
