Overview

NanoSniff Technologies developed the world's first micro‑sensor based explosive trace detector (ETD) using a micro‑electromechanical system (MEMS). The device, launched earlier this month, can detect explosives such as TNT, Ammonium Nitrate and RDX in less than 10 seconds. The technology is described as a made‑in‑India solution and is protected by patents in the US and Europe. The company is incubated at IIT Bombay and positions the product for deployment at high‑security installations like airports, railway and metro stations, hotels, malls and places of worship. The company has previously raised funding from a group of angel investors and recently completed a crowdfunding raise. It plans to leverage its new investors and 1Crowd's mentor and industry network for strategic and operational support.
