NanoStruct has developed a platform that combines nanostructured optical sensor chips with biotechnology and machine learning to detect harmful bacteria in food in a few hours rather than several days. The company positions its system as enabling same-day results, reducing recalls and food waste while improving food safety. NanoStruct is targeting the food-analysis market first and plans pilot projects with food producers and testing laboratories as part of its commercialization. Management, led by CEO Dr. Henriette Maaß, intends to build a structured sales organization to enter its initial target market.
