NanoViricides

135 Wood St, Ste 1, West Haven, CT, 06516, US

Overview

NanoViricides is an early-stage antiviral drug developer focused on its lead candidate NV-387, a broad-spectrum nanomedicine initially targeting mpox and slated for a Phase 2 trial in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The compound is also being explored for smallpox, measles, RSV, influenza, COVID-19 and long COVID, with plans to pursue U.S. orphan-drug designations to gain regulatory and financial incentives. The company operates from a 18,000 sq ft integrated R&D and small-scale manufacturing facility in Shelton, Connecticut, while subcontracting research work to TheraCour Pharma under a long-standing license. As of June 30 2025, NanoViricides employed about seven full-time staff. Financially, the firm held roughly $1.25 million in cash on Sept 30 and burned about $1.6 million during that quarter, largely to prepare for planned Phase 2 studies. Although it raised approximately $6 million in early November via a direct offering and private placement, management warns the cash runway does not extend beyond mid-February 2026 and additional financings will be required. The company is actively reprioritizing programs and expects future progress to be contingent on securing further capital.
