Nara Space specializes in small satellite manufacturing and data analytics for Earth observation. The company operates the 'Observer' EO satellite program and is developing a methane-monitoring satellite under the NarSha Project. Last November it developed and launched Observer-1A, becoming the first South Korean startup to launch a commercial 16U small EO satellite; Observer-1A performs daily observation missions in LEO and has been capturing images of major cities worldwide. With the new funding, Nara Space plans to launch the Observer-1B twin and lay foundations for a satellite mass production line. Management has set a goal to operate a cluster of 100 small satellites within the next five years to provide real-time global Earth monitoring services across different sensors and wavelengths. The company has now raised approximately $24.3 million to date following earlier pre-Series A and Series A rounds.
